Paramedic Shift Leads (2 FT)

B R I E FP O S I T I O ND E S C R I P T I O N :
Under the direct supervision of the Yuma County Operations Supervisors, this position, in addition to the responsibilities described in the Paramedic job description, will have additional responsibilities of employee supervision and management of designated geographic area.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions include:

- Daily contact with and supervision of area field crews
- Patient Care Record retrieval
- Required investigations
- Compliance of required company documentation
- Assist the EMS Supervisor On Call with system status management and planning of the area resources
- Coordinate Community Events and standbys
- Take customer inquiries and follow our internal Customer Resolution Process
- Responds to and assists/provides command assistance at major medical incidents.
- Assist in training of newly hired employees and / or employees needing additional training
- Attendance and participation in mandatory meetings

Due to the nature of the services we provide, system management is required during all operational hours.
The services we provide are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and this position will work the ABC schedule. We are open and fully staffed on all Holidays and Weekends.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of:
- Emergency medical services
- General computer knowledge

Ability to:
- Handle multiple tasks in an efficient and orderly manner
- Type and use computers for data entry, statistical analysis, and report writing
- Read, write, and comprehend US English language.
- Effectively communicate to and motivate employees
- Operate effectively in a stressful situation

Education/Experience:
High School diploma or general education diploma (GED) with preference to A.A. degree, or equivalent work experience. Two Years Emergency Medical experience required.

Work Environment:
The work is performed in both a field office and outdoor environment and may be exposed adverse conditions of temperature or weather. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Demands:
Generally an incumbent Lead Paramedic is required to perform all duties of the job function including long shift hours of twenty-four (24) hour day.
