  Firefighter Recruit is a part-time/ on call entry-level class for emergency service work in the Rural/Metro Fire Department. The Recruit Firefighter position that exists is to attend Firefighter Recruit School to learn the general duty of Firefighters work. Incumbents are sent to recruit school for training in firefighting methods, emergency medical services, fire code enforcement and prevention practices, salvage operations, public relations, physical fitness and associated topics to prepare for appointment as a Firefighter. After successful completion of recruit school, employees are promoted to the class of Firefighter. Minimum requirements: HS Diploma, at least 18 years old, required to live within Josephine County Fire protection area.
