  Business Objects BI Software Developer
 B R I E F P O S I T I O N D E S C R I P T I O N :
  Position Summary:
This position is responsible for advanced technical development of executive dashboards and other business intelligence reporting using the BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, Xcelsius and/or related equivalent applications.
Essential Functions:
· Create new dashboards and reports, working with design and specifications and utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
· Maintain and modify existing BI reporting including Xcelsius dashboards, Web Intelligence, Crystal and other reports and schedule/carry out their distribution
· Compile requirements for full reporting solution architecture cycle from requirements, design, QA, and implementation
· Develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards with Xcelsius and/or other dashboard design tools
· Develop and deploy metric reporting solutions to mobile devices
· Work with executives and end users for ad-hoc reporting needs, prioritizing tasks and delivering under tight deadlines
· Ability to listen to business requests and use creative thinking and problem solving to determine streamlined, efficient approaches while answering their reporting needs
· Proficient in working with multiple data sources and analysis tools to interpret data and develop effective reporting solutions
· Organize, plan, direct and control work activities related to internal and outsourced projects
· Analyze source and content of data for delivery between systems as well as data mining to extract required information for reporting needs
· Prepare documentation for IT support and customers including QA documentation to assist QA staff in testing process and instructions for computer operations as necessary
· Implement system improvements within the IT department in order to transition to newer tools, automate manual tasks, rework inefficient or outdated processes to eliminate waste and transition towards paperless activities
Additional Duties:
· Training for backup developers and report writing staff
· Prepare documentation required to support job assignments
· Create, maintain and enforce BI development standards
Qualifications:
· A person in this job function should have at least seven (7) years of experience with business intelligence development related activities
· At least two (2) years of experience with BusinessObjects reporting tools or equivalent
· At least two (2) years of experience with dashboard design and development
· Familiar with a variety of the development concepts, practices, and procedures
· Detailed understanding of database design and techniques for data mining
· Experience in SQL
· Experience in development using .NET a plus
Education Requirements:
· May require a bachelor’s degree in a related area or at least seven (7) years of experience in the field
