B R I E FP O S I T I O ND E S C R I P T I O N :
Provide general medical care and treatment to patients in both emergent and non-emergent settings as defined by the Arizona Department of Health Services Scope of Practice for Basic EMT. This position is located in Pinal County and services all facilities/customers that are partnered with Rural/Metro - Southwest Ambulance.

Essential Functions and Duties:
Neatly and accurately document pertinent patient information on ambulance run tickets, patient refusal forms, and transport forms.
Maintain safe and healthy workplace in accordance to the standards set forth by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and the Southwest Ambulance Standard Operating Procedures.
Perform all tasks required in the performance of typical EMT duties.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be 21 years of age when submitting for an EMT position with R/M – Southwest Ambulance
Current DHS Arizona EMT-Basic Certification Card
Current CPR Pro card
Current Arizona Driver License
A 60-month Motor Vehicle Report will be pulled. Qualified candidates must have an acceptable driving record per company policy.

Education Requirements:
High School/GED required
Emergency Medical Technician – (EMT/BLS) certification required
CPR Pro certification required

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds when needed and move object/materials to locations that might be up to 100 feet away.

Cognitive/Psychosocial Requirements:
Ideal Candidates will have the ability to follow simple and complex written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Working Conditions:
Regularly works in outside weather and is regularly exposed to wet or dry conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat.
Works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles (potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne and airborne pathogens), toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
Noise level can be very loud at times.
May work irregular schedule/hours. Southwest Ambulance is a 365, 24/hr. per day, 7 day per week operation.
This could include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
