  Vehicle Technician (Fleet Mechanic)
 B R I E F P O S I T I O N D E S C R I P T I O N :
  Repairs and maintains company vehicles and mechanical equipment within the regulations and standards set by Department of Transportation (DOT), New York State Department of Health (DOH), the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and Rural/Metro Medical Services; Position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); Must be 18 years of age or older; Two-year certificate from college, technical school, or ASE certification is preferred; Minimum of 2 years fleet/dealer shop experience; Applicant must possess a thorough knowledge of light truck mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and have experience with diesel and gasoline powered drive-trains; Applicant must possess knowledge of State Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) rules and regulations; Applicant must possess a complete set of mechanic’s tools and be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 150 pounds; possess evidence of completing continuing training programs in automotive technology; possess valid New York State driver’s license and New York State vehicle inspection license.
