  Position Summary:
The Dispatcher coordinates the assignment of ambulance units in order to maintain effective utilization of the available resources. This individual is responsible for accurately receiving all incoming communications, confirming accuracy of all information, documenting received information and transferring received information to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
Receive and prioritizes all incoming telephone calls
Demonstrates the ability to effectively channel emergency and non-emergency calls to appropriate personnel
Efficiently dispatches vehicles to emergency and non-emergency calls in a timely manner
Monitor the status and locations of all operations resources
Post available units as per system status guidelines
Coordinates dispatch activities with other EMS agencies
Provide back-up support for other dispatch positions within the communications center
Qualifications:
EMS and/or dispatch related experience and/or training preferred
Knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system
Strong communication, customer service and data entry skills
Must be able to multi-task
Must be able to function in a high stress environment
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
Must be willing to work in North & South Fulton dispatch centers
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
