Business Analyst

B R I E FP O S I T I O ND E S C R I P T I O N :
Essential Functions:
· Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems and user needs. Defines enhancements to parallel overall business strategies.
· Works closely with customers and internal IT staff as a resource to the Program Management Office enterprise projects (design, data gathering, documentation, and a postitive interface with customers).
· Strong people skills are essential to the position.
· Writes detailed Functional Design documents providing description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
· Works closely with programming and quality assurance staff to ensure customer needs are communicated clearly and represented in technical specification created by programmers.
· Application support for selected systems including R/M Billing, JD Edwards financials, OnBase document management, CAD and other systems as assigned.
· Takes initiative and works independently.
· Works well in high pressure situations.
· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
· Works closely with customers and internal IT staff to define system enhancements and corrections and work within a schedule to ensure projects meet deadlines.
· Provides system administration and maintenance tasks for selected systems including organizational tree changes, new user set-up, security changes, software upgrades, etc.
· Performs query functions and reporting on an ad-hoc basis through customer support requests and internal needs, using SQL, AS/400 query, Crystal Reporting, Business Objects WEBi, OnBase Document Management, etc.

Additional Duties:
· Customer and Internal Support – respond to and complete customer requests and queries
· Functions as back-up resource to other positions and functions in the department
· Other projects as assigned – department/personal objectives, department initiatives, participation on internal/external committees, etc.
· Part of an on-call rotation

Qualifications:
· At least 2 years of experience in the medical billing, quality assurance testing or other related area.
· Familiar with relational database concepts, and/or client-server concepts.
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
· Works under general supervision - Typically reports to a project leader or manager.

Education Requirements:
· An associate’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
